This is the last day to confirm you’ll be attending.

• Please visit the Application Status Page using your login information, where you’ll be able to share your decision.
• Then, come back to visit this Accepted Students section to find the rest of the information you’ll need to enroll.

May 8, 2024

Housing Application is due. The link to the housing application will come via e-mail when you receive your student ID and MSM e-mail.

Freshmen, Transfer Freshmen, Sophomores, and Transfer Sophomores are required to live on campus.

June 1, 2024

Deadline to confirm financial aid award through MSM Student Portal (NetPartner).

• If this applies to you, you will receive instructions by email.

June 9-20, 2024

Required MSM placement exams take place online via Canvas and Zoom.

July 1, 2024

1. Deadline to submit your MSM Immunization History form.

• Have your doctor’s office fax or email your completed, signed, stamped form with cover sheet to +1 917-493-4436 or admission@yamxpj.com.
• OR you can mail the original form to: Admissions Office, Manhattan School of Music, 130 Claremont Avenue, New York, NY 10027.

2. Deadline to submit official transcripts, and proof of degree or diploma

• Ask your previous school to send us your final transcripts and proof of degree or diploma. Official documents can be sent by your school electronically through an official transcript service following your date of graduation, by email to admission@yamxpj.com from an official administrative school email address, or through postal mail in unopened envelopes, sealed by the issuing institution. Final, official transcripts and proof of degree or diploma must be sent directly to MSM by the issuing institution

• While electronic submissions are preferred, academic documents can be mailed to: Admissions Office, Manhattan School of Music, 130 Claremont Avenue, New York, NY 10027

Please pay your tuition by this date, or sign up for a payment plan. You will receive an email from Student Accounts in July, with instructions of how to download your invoice and make your payment. Note: All full-time Manhattan School of Music students are required to have health insurance that meets the minimum essential coverage requirements set by the U.S. Affordable Care Act. The cost of health insurance will be included on your bill; U.S. students who can prove sufficient health insurance coverage will be able to have the charge removed from their bill by following an insurance waiver procedure. Please go to http://studentcenter.uhcsr.com/msmnyc to complete and submit your Waiver Request. At the end of the online waiver request process you will have the opportunity to print a copy of your request for your records.

The Registrar’s Office will register students throughout the summer, based on the degree requirements and placement exam results. Schedules will be available online in the MSM Student Portal  on or around August 15. An email will be sent to all new incoming students when schedules are finalized. Please be sure to check your MSM email.

Transfer, Master, Professional Studies, and Professional Performance Diploma students will receive information regarding advising appointments towards the end of August. Please be sure to check your MSM email.

Doctoral students will be contacted by Dr. Jeffrey Langford in late May/early June to review the courses they will need to register for in the Fall.  Please be sure to check your MSM email.

Required placement exams will take place online via Canvas and Zoom June 9-20, 2024.

Placement exams are used to determine the level of each student’s abilities in music history, music theory, aural skills and other subjects related to specific majors.  A new student can place out of remedial courses and/or required courses by excelling in these exams.  Placing out of a course will allow greater flexibility in their coursework. An email will be sent to all new incoming students with detailed information by mid-May. Please be sure to check your MSM email.
